The fast growing Ed-Tech platform Seppo.io (www.seppo.io) has closed a financing round led by Excedea Capital this November. The investment round ensures Seppo can continue its fast growth internationally. It is aiming to become the leading global platform for gamified learning in schools.
Seppo is a tried and tested solution for integrating mobile technology into teaching. Seppo already has paying customers in 20 countries. It is a browser-based platform which makes it possible to be used on students' own smartphones (BYOD, bring your own device) or devices provided by the school. With Seppo the game content is created by teachers which means it can be used for any subject on any school level. Students can participate in building the game and they can utilize text, pictures, videos and applications while playing it. Seppo’s key feature is a location-based “Pokemon GO”-type of platform where the games are played in real environment, moving outdoors.
“We are very happy to close this round of financing. Seppo has been proven to work universally for teachers around the globe and the financing enables us to keep growing fast. Also the know-how and hands-on international growth support brought by Excedea and its co-investors will be very valuable for our future success” – Riku Alkio, CEO, Seppo.io.
