In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to use Seppo effectively and make the most out of its features.

Player account login

1. What is a player account?

A player account is the player’s personal game account that:

  • Gives access to all games they’ve been invited to or joined using a game PIN code
  • Saves their progress across multiple games
  • instructor can view a report that includes all account activity and the player’s progress

Instructors can create player accounts through their Seppo account. Once the account is created:

The player receives an email with an activation link and login details.

The instructor can start adding games to the player’s account.

When the player logs in, they’ll see all the games shared with them and can start playing.

The instructor can view a special player account report that includes all account activity and the player’s progress.

Player accounts are especially helpful for:

  • Large groups
  • Players who participate in multiple games

Player accounts make it easy for the player to keep all their games in one place and to return to them anytime! In this article, we will guide you on how to create and use a player account.

2. How to create player accounts?

Log in as an game instructor at play.seppo.io

Navigate to the Settings → Organisation page from the menu on the left.

Under Player accounts, click the + Add new button

Enter the player’s email address and name. Tags can be added later from Edit tags → Manage tags setting.

5. You can also add player accounts using a CSV file.

Once players have been added, click “Preview and Send” to review and send account invitations. The invitation is valid for for 72 hours.

At the bottom of the screen, you can track the status of your current player accounts and invitations:

  • Pending = The email invitation has been sent and is waiting for the player to confirm it
  • Accepted (grey) = The player has confirmed their account and logged in
  • Accepted (green) = The player has started playing a game
  • Expired = Player did not confirm the invite. 

3. How to add tags to player accounts?

Tags make it easy to organize, manage, and share games with multiple player groups at once.

When you assign tags (like a country, city, department, or role) to player accounts:

  • You can instantly share a game with everyone who shares that tag
  • Tags appear in the game report, making it easier to filter results and compare groups
  • This is especially helpful when managing large datasets, such as 1000+ players from different countries or schools

Tags help you:

  • Organize your players efficiently
  • Share games quickly to the right groups
  • Analyse game results by segment — with just a few clicks

How to Add or Edit Tags

Go to Organisation Settings.

View the “Player accounts” section.

Select the Edit tags button.

In the Manage Tags section: Click + Create tag to add a new tag OR click on an existing tag name to rename it or delete it.

How to Assign Tags to Players

On the Edit player account tags page, you’ll see a list of player names and their email addresses.

Use the checkboxes on the left to select one or more player accounts.

Below the list, open the “Select tag” dropdown menu.

Choose the tag you want to assign, it will be applied to all selected players.

Assigned tags will appear as pink badges under the TAGS column.

To remove a tag, either: Click the “X” next to the pink tag on a player row, or Use the delete option in the “Select tag” setting.

🎯 Tip: Use only 1-3 tags per player account that are clear and consistent.

4. How to add games to player accounts?

Follow these simple steps to add games to players who have a player account:

Open the game you want to share in edit mode.

Click “Add people” in the top-right corner of the screen.

Select the “Player account” tab.

Search for the players you want to add by name or by their tag/label.

Add players in either of these ways: Tap individual player accounts under Search results. Add a group by selecting a tag from the “Active tags” section.

The “Players to be added” section shows everyone you’re about to invite.

Click “Add players” to confirm and add them to the game.

Once you add the game to the selected player accounts it’s visable to the players. Remember to set the game on fro player to start playing it.

5. How players login to their player account?

Players must activate their player account by clicking the link in their invitation email.

During activation, the player is automatically logged in to their account.

After that, players can either: Use the same email link to log in again, or go directly to the Seppo login page: play.seppo.io

On Seppo’s login page, players can login from “Player account login” with the username and password provided in the invitation email.

After logging in, players can:

  • View all games they’ve been added to
  • Access games they’ve played before
  • Join new games using a game PIN code
