Follow task order
What is the Follow task order feature?
The Follow task order feature is located in Game Settings > Advanced > Game Mechanics. When enabled, players must complete tasks in a predetermined sequence. This feature is ideal for linear games, ensuring a structured and cohesive gameplay experience, especially when an instructor wants to guide players through a clear progression.
Once the setting is enabled and changes are saved, its effect becomes visible in the game editor. In the left panel, the game’s tasks are displayed in a vertical list, each now assigned an order number. This number indicates the sequence in which players must complete the tasks.
To adjust the order, simply click and hold a task, then drag it up or down to the desired position. Upon release, the task will snap into place and update its order number accordingly.
Best practices and tips
When using task order alongside other game mechanics, such as levels or exploration mode, it’s important to provide clear instructions to players and position task pins in easily visible locations.
