Seppo guide

In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to use Seppo effectively and make the most out of its features.

Task types

What are Task types?

In the game editor’s Build tab, instructors can add a variety of tasks to their Seppo game. To add a task, click the “Add task” button at the bottom left of the editor. Seppo has six different task types to choose from.

These include:

1

Creative

2

Multiple-choice

3

Checkbox

4

Missing word

5

Match pairs

6

Explore

Creative

A creative task encourages players to use their imagination, collaborate, and utilize available tools. Players can respond with text or multimedia, such as images, videos, or audio.

Instructors can review and evaluate answers in the Play tab of the game editor. However, for games that require a more structured progression, automatic scoring and feedback can also be configured.

Multiple-choice

In a multiple-choice task, players choose the correct option out of many. Answers are evaluated automatically. Each answer option can include text and an image. Also, a custom feedback text can be configured for each option.

Checkbox

In a checkbox task, players can choose multiple correct options out of many. Answers are evaluated automatically. Each answer option can include text and an image.

Missing word

Missing word task allows players to type a word into a text field. Answers are evaluated automatically based on the answers you define. The words are not case-sensitive: both Cat and cat are accepted. Multiple correct answers can be determined with a semicolon. E.g. 1918; -18; 18. To accept any answer to be correct, write *** in the text field.

Match pairs

In the match pairs task, players look for the correct pairs. You can match words, words and images, or just images. The automatic evaluation is based on the exact pairs you define, so you should not use the same word or image twice. The options on the left remain in place, and those on the right are shuffled.

Explore

The Explore task allows players to engage with content such as videos, images, text, or links without needing to submit a response. This task type enables players to explore the provided material and continue their gameplay without the need to collect points. The instructor has an option to require an acknowledgement from the players that they have reviewed the content provided to them.
