A Spark Ignited by Play

Our story began on the cobblestone streets of Rome.

In 2011, history teacher Riku Alkio was leading a school trip with students from Helsinki, Finland. The class had turned their lessons into an Amazing Race through the city's ancient churches—solving challenges and racing through narrow streets.

What unfolded was something every teacher dreams of: energy, natural teamwork, curiosity.

The students didn't want to stop.

That's when it hit him: this is how people are meant to learn—through play, discovery, and the thrill of figuring things out together.

That spark became Seppo.

Forged in the North, Trusted Worldwide

Our name is inspired by Seppä Ilmarinen, the legendary blacksmith from Finland’s national epic, Kalevala. In the myth, Ilmarinen forged the Sampo—a source of endless prosperity.

We don’t forge mythic machines, but we do shape something lasting: learning experiences that help people grow stronger and organizations thrive.
