Matti Pekurinen, Guidance counsellor: You can also learn outside the classroom

One of the advantages of seppo is that pupils are motivated to be active and on the move – it gets the kids outdoors. It's easy to create the tasks so that the pupils can decide, by themselves, what to do and in which order. It increases motivation.

In guidance counselling classes we have done a city orienteering where pupils get introduced to different professions around the city. I've linked websites for trustworthy communities and organisations to seppo, so the pupils have been able to do real time research on vocational education related to each profession.

Moving out of the classroom activates pupils in many different ways, and a lot of them get excited about the subject in a new way.
